Y-Type Strainer
A Y-Strainer is installed into a pipeline system to remove unwanted debris from the pipeline flow by utilizing a perforated or mesh lined straining element. Y-Strainers remove only insoluble floating impurities with the most common range of particle retention ranging from 1 inch to 100 microns. The Y strainer is typically used for coarse filtration, though it can accommodate fine mesh screens for enhanced filtration. The body is available in durable materials like cast iron, cast carbon steel, or stainless steel, with options for flanged or threaded ends, offering a high filtration area with minimal pressure drop. As the authorized distributor of QWP strainers, Spectra Solutions LLC ensures access to the complete QWP Model Y Strainer line, manufactured to stringent ASME B16.5 standards. Standard screens are available in SS304 or SS316 mesh, with optional perforated plate screens, and a convenient drain/blow-off connection furnished with a plug.
